Position Overview:
As a Health Care Assistant, you will provide vital support under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator. Your duties will cover a broad spectrum, from assisting with patient hygiene and mobility to ensuring safety and privacy. This job is designed to offer you the flexibility to work around your schedule while contributing significantly to our high standards of patient care.
  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support patient care activities as instructed by the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator.
  • Offer assistance with personal hygiene, feeding, and patient mobility.
  • Uphold patient safety protocols and contribute to data collection efforts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards within the hospital environment.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding any patient care issues or concerns.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in hospital policies and patient care guidelines.

  
Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments and engage families in the care process.
  • Deliver care in line with the hospitals policies and guidelines.
  • Assist with patient dietary needs and adhere to visiting policies.

  
Personal & Professional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in mandatory training and professional development opportunities.
  • Exhibit the hospitals values through a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Engage in performance evaluations and demonstrate effective time management.
  • Show flexibility in meeting the operational needs of the hospital, including departmental rotations.

  
Person Specification:
Qualifications:

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
  • Health Care Assistant certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.

  
Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge:

  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, and managing time effectively.
  • Acute hospital experience is desirable.
