3Q Recruitment is partnering with a leading mental health and neuropsychiatry service in Dublin 16 to recruit a Senior Psychologist.
This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity for an experienced psychologist to provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation across adult mental health, psychotherapy and neuropsychiatry.
You will provide specialist psychological care to adults with complex and enduring mental health needs, including schizophrenia, mood disorders, dementia and neurodegenerative conditions. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute your expertise to patient care, clinical leadership and the ongoing development of psychological services.

The Role
As Senior Psychologist, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation across adult mental health, psychotherapy and neuropsychiatry services.
Working closely with patients, families and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will support the delivery of person-centred care while contributing to clinical supervision, care planning, risk management and service improvement.
The role offers the opportunity to influence clinical practice, support colleagues and help ensure that patients receive high-quality psychological care throughout their treatment.
What You’ll Do
- Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation.
- Deliver evidence-based psychological care across adult mental health, psychotherapy and neuropsychiatry.
- Support adults with complex and enduring mental health needs, including schizophrenia, dementia and neurodegenerative conditions.
- Contribute to care planning, risk management and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship and support to psychology staff and MDT colleagues.
- Promote recovery, autonomy, dignity and quality of life through person-centred psychological care.
- Contribute to clinical governance, service development and continuous improvement.
- Maintain high standards of professional practice, documentation and confidentiality in line with relevant legislation and professional standards.
What You’ll Need
Essential Qualifications / Experience
- A recognised third‑level degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) with first‑ or second‑class honours, where psychology was a major subject and honours were obtained in that subject, accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
- A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Psychology appropriate to adult mental health practice, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health, at Senior Psychologist level.
- Minimum eight years’ relevant professional psychology experience, including substantial post‑qualification experience in adult mental health.
- Significant experience working within adult mental health services, including complex and enduring mental health difficulties.
- Proven experience in a hospital, inpatient mental health, psychiatric rehabilitation or comparable healthcare environment, as an active member of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Strong leadership, people management and communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively to patients, families, colleagues and senior management.
- Ability to obtain Garda clearance as a fit person to hold the post of Senior Psychologist.
Desirable
- Postgraduate training or clinical experience in neuropsychology, cognitive assessment or neurocognitive/neurodegenerative conditions.
- Experience in mental health rehabilitation settings.
- Training in CBT (including CBT for psychosis) and at least one other modality (e.g. family therapy, DBT, schema, emotion‑focused, compassion‑focused, psychodynamic).
- Experience providing clinical supervision.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and statutory regulations in healthcare.
- Specific experience working with schizophrenia and complex, enduring mental illness.
