SAOR Practitioner Job in the Midlands
SAOR Practitioner
Position: SAOR Practitioner
Location: Midlands (with travel to partner services as needed)
Salary: Competitive
Are you driven to make a meaningful impact in the lives of people affected by substance use? We’re recruiting a dedicated SAOR Practitioner to support the delivery of the Health Diversion Programme across the Midlands. This role plays a key part in Ireland’s shift toward a health-led response to drug use.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver SAOR Screening and Brief Interventions using a Motivational Interviewing approach
- Build strong referral pathways in collaboration with services including An Garda Síochána, GPs, TUSLA, and community agencies
- Provide onward referrals for complex or high-risk cases in line with the National Drugs Rehabilitation Framework
- Liaise with HSE Addiction Services and Drug & Alcohol Task Forces to support coordinated care
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to ongoing programme development
Skills and Qualifications To thrive in this role, you’ll need the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in addiction or related social care services
- Trained in Motivational Interviewing (Level II), Screening & Brief Intervention, keyworking, and care planning
- In-depth knowledge of local service networks, interagency working, and case management
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Full clean driving licence and access to own transport
- Relevant qualification (minimum QQI Level 6 or equivalent in health, social care, or addiction studies)
