At 3Q Recruitment, we take pride in staying informed, getting involved, and giving back to key communities. Our ongoing commitment led us back to Dogs Aid, a remarkable non-profit organization in Dublin, for another inspiring visit with Maggie and the dogs under her care.

About Dogs Aid

Dogs Aid, established in 1987, is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization dedicated to helping unwanted and abandoned dogs in Dublin. Their mission includes rehoming dogs to loving families and offering lifelong care for “forever dogs” who cannot be rehomed due to medical or behavioural challenges.

Dogs Aid depends entirely on public donations to operate. They also run a first-aid veterinary clinic on Tuesday evenings in Ballymun, providing essential animal care for dogs in need. If you’re looking to support this cause, you can help by donating, sponsoring a “forever dog,” or even adopting one of their many animals waiting for a home. For more information, visit their website at dogsaid.ie.

The Dedication of Volunteers at Dogs Aid

For over 35 years, Maggie has been a driving force behind Dogs Aid. Under her compassionate leadership, the organization cares for 60-70 dogs on average at any time. From feeding and medical care to finding safe and loving homes, Maggie and the other volunteers work tirelessly to ensure these dogs’ well-being.

During our visit, we were shown the inner workings of Dogs Aid. Their kennels are thoughtfully designed, complete with underfloor heating and cozy sleeping areas. Remarkably, every dog has its routine down to a pat—when feeding time rolls around, they head straight to their kennels. It’s clear how well-trained and cared-for these dogs are thanks to the team’s unwavering dedication.

Highlights from Our Visit

During our trip back to Dogs Aid, we were thrilled to reunite with some familiar furry faces and meet new ones too. Here are some of the moments that stood out to us.

Mildred – Our Canine Ambassador

Mildred, our beloved 3Q Recruitment canine ambassador, has been sponsored by us for more than two years. While she was a little camera-shy during our visit, it was heartwarming to see her happy, healthy, and thriving under Maggie’s care.

Woodie

Woodie, another delightful resident, had us all smiling with his playful antics. Unlike Mildred, he’s a natural in front of the camera and even managed to “photobomb” a few of our photos. Maggie shared the exciting news that Woodie’s adorable puppy-dog eyes have charmed two potential adopters. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Woodie finds his forever home soon—hopefully before Christmas!

Dudley

Perhaps the most unforgettable story belongs to Dudley, the “traffic stopper.” This little canine celebrity made headlines when he wandered onto Dublin Airport’s runway, halting operations for more than 30 minutes. Today, he’s safe, sound, and as charming as they come, winning hearts with his endearing personality.

How to Support Dogs Aid

There are many ways to support Dogs Aid’s incredible mission of dog adoption and animal care. You can choose to adopt one of their dogs, sponsor a forever dog, or donate to help fund their veterinary clinic and everyday operations. Volunteering opportunities are also available, and you can join the passionate team making a difference in the lives of these animals.

Visit dogsaid.ie or send an email to info@dogsaid.ie to learn how you can contribute.

Wrapping Up

A warm thank you to Maggie and all the volunteers at Dogs Aid for their incredible work. Their dedication to the welfare of these dogs is truly inspiring, and we are grateful for the opportunity to witness it firsthand.

We can’t wait for our next visit to Dogs Aid to see more tails wagging! Together, we can continue to offer support to this wonderful community and help them in their mission to provide happier lives for unwanted and abandoned dogs in Dublin.
