Ward Catering Assistant – Dublin 18 | Patient-Facing Healthcare Role
3Q Recruitment is recruiting Ward Catering Assistants to support meal and beverage services on healthcare wards in Dublin 18. These roles are ward-based and patient-facing, supporting patients respectfully and safely during mealtimes.
The facility is easily accessible via the Green Line Luas and multiple Dublin Bus routes, making this role suitable for candidates commuting from South Dublin and surrounding areas.
This position suits candidates who are comfortable working in clinical environments and who understand the importance of dignity, hygiene and accuracy in healthcare food service.
The Role
As a Ward Catering Assistant, you will support daily meal service on wards, working closely with nursing teams, catering staff and ward supervisors to ensure patients receive meals correctly and on time.
This is a people-focused role requiring care, professionalism and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver meals and beverages to patients on hospital and healthcare wards
- Set up, distribute and clear meal trays and service trolleys
- Support accurate meal service in line with dietary and nutritional requirements
- Follow infection control, hygiene and food safety procedures at all times
- Communicate clearly with nursing, catering and ward teams
- Maintain clean, organised and safe ward service areas
Requirements
- Experience in healthcare, catering, hospitality or service-based roles
- Comfortable working directly with patients in clinical environments
- Strong awareness of infection control, hygiene and food safety standards
- Legal right to work in Ireland
- Ability to provide five years of work history or references
- Reliable, respectful and professional approach to work
- Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
- International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16
Pay & Benefits
- €17.53 per hour
- Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Daytime and rostered shifts available
- Monday–Sunday roster depending on service requirements
- Structured and well-supported healthcare environment
