Catering Assistant (Kitchen & Canteen) – Dublin 8 | Healthcare Catering Role

3Q Recruitment is recruiting a Catering Assistant (Kitchen & Canteen) to support a busy healthcare facility in Dublin 8, assisting with kitchen production and staff canteen service.

The facility is easily accessible via the Luas and multiple Dublin Bus routes, making this role ideal for candidates commuting across Dublin City.

This position is suited to candidates with experience in catering, kitchen support or food service environments who are seeking structured daytime hours within a professional healthcare setting.

The Role

Working as part of a healthcare catering team, you will support both kitchen operations and staff canteen service, ensuring food is prepared, presented and served to a high standard.

This is a kitchen and canteen-based role and does not involve ward service duties.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, plating and service set-up
Serve meals and beverages in the staff canteen
Maintain high hygiene standards across kitchens, counters and equipment
Follow HACCP, food safety and infection control procedures
Support stock handling, labelling and rotation
Set up and clear service counters and dining areas
Assist chefs and supervisors during busy service periods

Requirements

6–12 months’ experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or in food service
Experience in healthcare or high-volume kitchens is an advantage
Basic knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
Legal right to work in Ireland
Ability to provide five years of verifiable work references
Reliable, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16

Salary & Benefits

€17.53 per hour
Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Full-time daytime shifts only
No late nights
