Social Care Worker – Athlone Community & Youth Support | Westmeath
3Q Recruitment is hiring a Social Care Worker to support young people under 18 and their families affected by substance and alcohol misuse in a community-based healthcare service in Athlone.
This is a meaningful front-line role focused on recovery, wellbeing and resilience.
Work pattern:
- 1 day per week in Athlone
- 1 day per week in Mullingar
What You’ll Do
- Support young people through person-centred care
- Work with families affected by addiction
- Develop and review individual support plans
- Liaise with CAMHS, Tusla, schools, GPs and youth services
- Maintain clear, confidential case notes
- Follow Children First and safeguarding procedures
What You’ll Need
- Level 7 qualification (Social Care, Counselling, Psychology or related)
- Experience in community, youth or social care settings
- Strong communication and empathy
- Knowledge of child protection guidelines
- Legal right to work in Irelan
- Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
- International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16
- Driving licence and transport desirable
Pay & Benefits
- €19.70 per hour

- Double pay weekends & Bank Holidays
- Mileage allowance (Athlone ↔ Mullingar)
