3Q Recruitment our seeking a Staff Nurse for our clients Residential Detox service located in North Dublin. The client is a national charity who are dedicated to tackling the challenges of homelessness, substance misuse and social disadvantage. Offering low-threshold entry services, mainly to younger people and vulnerable adults with complex needs.
The successful applicant will support individuals detoxing from substances such as methadone, through programs rooted in the 7 pillars of recovery, including horticulture, group therapy, acupuncture, and animal husbandry.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Regularly meet with the Clinical Nurse Manager to discuss work progress.
- Assist in the daily operations of the project alongside the Clinical Nurse Manager.
- Lead the dispensing, storage, and documentation of medication following best practices.
- Maintain quality standards, participate in service evaluations and audits to enhance care quality and clinical effectiveness.
- Provide nursing care around the clock on a rotating schedule.
- Offer health education and promotion services to clients.
- Collaborate with the duty team to deliver nursing care per Residential Community Detox policies, ensuring key service objectives are met.
- Supervise participant behaviour consistently.
- Coordinate with staff to secure move-on accommodations for participants.
- Plan and organize recreational or group activities.
- Conduct regular key working sessions to guide clients in decision-making for recovery and future plans.
- As part of a multidisciplinary team, perform health assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and offer direct nursing and social care to clients in crisis.
- Assist participants in creating Individual Personal Plans and setting long-term goals.
- Mediate disputes and foster cooperation among participants.
- Stay in touch with past participants to offer support and guidance for accessing services and accommodations.
- Prepare written reports for the Clinical Nurse Manager as needed.
- Record any incidents or accidents that occur.
- Review and update care and safety plans weekly, ensuring adjustments are made to meet clients’ holistic needs.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid NMBI Pin is mandatory.
- Nursing qualifications, BSc in Psychiatric, General or Intellectual Disability.
- Experience working with clients detoxing from methadone within a similar environment.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to provide the highest level of respect, professionalism and service.
- Full-clean driving licence and car.
