We’re hiring a kitchen Porter in Portrane who is passionate about providing high-quality food service within a healthcare setting. This role ensures patient satisfaction through attentive meal preparation and delivery, prioritizing dietary needs and professional care.

We’re seeking flexible and dedicated individuals for full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts. Shifts typically run between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM. Double pay is offered on Sundays and Bank Holidays, adding to the benefits of this rewarding career. A full driving license is desirable due to the role’s location.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Kitchen porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring patient satisfaction and delivering excellent service. Your responsibilities will include:

• Consulting with patients or parents about food preferences and completing menu selections.
• Collaborating with nurses to confirm dietary requirements, including allergies, and preparing tailored food orders.
• Serving meals to patients at their bedside and offering assistance as needed to ensure comfort.
• Preparing food trays with accurate portions and referring to guidelines for drinks and snacks.
• Taking feedback from patients or parents about meals and reporting relevant details to the supervisor or head chef.
• Stocking ward pantries with food and beverages needed for daily service.
• Cleaning and sanitizing crockery, cutlery, and service areas as per hospital cleaning schedules.
• Adhering to HACCP procedures, including temperature checks for food and equipment, and reporting any non-conformance to the supervisor.
• Assisting with general cleaning duties in the kitchen and maintaining hygiene standards at all times.

Requirements for the Role

• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a catering or food service role, ideally in a healthcare setting or busy environment.
• Legal eligibility to work in Ireland, with successful Garda Vetting clearance.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• A commitment to hygiene policies, infection control, and adherence to safety standards.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• A full driving license is desirable but not essential.
