Hospital Chef Jobs – Westmeath | Healthcare Catering Chef Role

We are recruiting an experienced Hospital Chef to support a healthcare facility in Westmeath, preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that directly support patient care, recovery and wellbeing.

This is a structured healthcare catering chef role, ideal for chefs seeking daytime hours, no late nights and stable, meaningful work within a healthcare environment.

The role suits chefs with experience in hospital, healthcare or large-scale catering kitchens who are comfortable working to clinical standards and food safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present nutritious meals aligned with clinical and dietary guidelines
Work across hot food, cold kitchen, prep, plating and service areas
Maintain smooth daily kitchen operations with strong quality and consistency standards
Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene and cook-chill procedures at all times
Manage stock rotation, storage, labelling and waste control
Maintain allergen compliance and accurate portion control
Collaborate with dietitians, catering managers and healthcare teams
Maintain a clean, compliant and well-organised healthcare kitchen

Requirements

QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification
Proven experience as a Hospital Chef or Healthcare Catering Chef
Strong knowledge of HACCP, cook-chill systems and food safety standards
Legal right to work in Ireland and ability to complete Garda Vetting
Ability to provide 5 years of verifiable work references
Strong organisational skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Salary & Benefits

€20.50 per hour
Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Full-time, daytime shifts only
No late nights or overnight work
