Location: Dublin 4
Salary: €18.80 per hour
Join our team as a Hospital Chef in Dublin 4, where your culinary expertise will contribute to the well-being of patients through nutritious and high-quality meals. We’re searching for a full-time, flexible Chef who can bring creativity and professionalism to this rewarding role.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work, between 8-4:30pm, with no night shifts. Double pay is offered on Sundays and bank holidays, making this role even more rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver fresh, high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of patients.
- Plan, cook, and present nutritious dishes that are not only wholesome but also visually appealing.
- Monitor and respond to dietary changes or restrictions to support patients’ health outcomes.
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, stock rotation, and cost management.
- Drive menu innovation, using seasonal ingredients to create meals patients and staff will enjoy.
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff, promoting a positive work environment and teamwork.
- Ensure all food is labelled, chilled, stored, and prepared in line with food safety guidelines, including HACCP compliance.
- Perform routine quality checks at service points, ensuring meals meet superior standards in taste, presentation, and portioning.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to align meal preparation with patient care goals.
- Maintain spotless hygiene standards in the kitchen while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and culinary offerings.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: Professional Chef qualifications (QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent).
- Experience: Prior culinary experience is essential, while expertise in healthcare kitchens is highly valued.
- Proven ability to oversee a busy kitchen while cooking for large groups.
- Knowledge and practice of various cooking techniques and a passion for diverse cuisines.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Applicants with a valid driver’s license are highly desirable.
- Legal right to work in Ireland, along with Garda Vetting clearance.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
