We are seeking an experienced Chef & Kitchen Duty Supervisor in Dublin for our client, a non-profit organisation in Dublin. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and Cook Meals: Oversee the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring high-quality standards and maintaining consistency in every dish.
- Ensure Food Quality and Presentation: Monitor the quality, taste, and presentation of all meals to enhance the dining experience.
- Supervise Meal Preparation: Manage kitchen staff during meal preparation, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Oversee Food Production and Service: Manage and coordinate daily kitchen operations to uphold high-quality standards. Lead the team in the absence of the Chef Manager.
- Hygiene Standards: Ensure full compliance with Food Safety Authority of Ireland guidelines and our Food Safety Management System.
- Team Leadership and Training: Deliver on-the-job training and oversee the professional development of the kitchen team. Collaborate with the Chef Manager to address and support team needs.
- Menu Planning: Assist the Chef Manager in planning and selecting menus to delight customers.
- Stock Management: Monitor food stock levels and place orders as needed, filling this responsibility when the Chef Manager is unavailable.
- Customer Service Excellence: Enhance the dining experience by ensuring high-quality presentations and fostering positive customer interactions.
- Compliance and Records Maintenance: Work with suppliers and compliance bodies, while maintaining essential records like temperatures, cleaning schedules, and allergen lists.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Lead daily hygiene checks and cleaning routines to uphold the highest kitchen standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact between the kitchen team and other organisational departments.
- Handle health and safety policies responsibly, including reporting and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
- Support catering operations for external events as required.
- Cover the full responsibilities of the Chef Manager where needed, which includes both back-of-house and front-of-house duties, such as service counter management and customer engagement.
- Assist with cash handling, record keeping, and lodging when necessary.
- Participate in team meetings and professional training sessions for continuous growth.
