A Day in the Life as a Catering Assistant
Imagine a day where you’re an essential part of our food service team. You’ll be assisting with meal preparation, serving meals to patients, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. You’ll work alongside dedicated colleagues who share your passion for providing excellent care.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with meal preparation, including portioning and plating food.
- Serving meals to patients and staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
- Stocking supplies and ensuring that all food items are properly stored.
- Following all food safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Assisting with basic kitchen tasks as needed (some overlap with Kitchen Porter duties may be required).
What We’re Looking For
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to food safety and hygiene.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a relevant/similar environment.
- Must be able to provide references for the last 5 years.
- Willing to undergo the Garda Vetting process.
- Previous experience in a catering or food service environment (preferred but not required).
- Flexibility to assist with a variety of tasks as needed.
